We weren't allowed to say crap when I grew up. So if the last post gets deleted, it's because my mum made me take it down.

Not the easiest painting to take a photo of in a tiny student room, but here is 'Untitled'.

This was one of the best paintings I did in foundation, during the landscape theme. I was trying to draw attention to the environment that we are destroying, with a distraught looking figure.

I painted the face like that to annoy my tutor, and she ended up liking it more this way! It adds a sarcastic note to the painting, and is far more successful like this.

Sorry for being crap at uploading stuff! I'll be putting some of my old foundations paintings and experiments soon, loads of it is still pretty sweet!

This was an image I created in photoshop, making a double exposures. I wanted to create thematic juxtapositions, in this case contrasting a photo of a built up and 'synthetic' street against the biological abstraction of a tree's branches. This was what I was trying to portray a lot in my work in Foundation.

My Flexaret VI came from Slovakia!

I can't wait for my Ilford HP5 120mm to arrive! The viewfinder is beautiful, looking forward to do some portraits and landscape!

A really old painting - from last year.

I painted this in the summer after Foundation, still interesting with juxtapositions in conflict.

I hated it at the time, but it's been lying around in my room since I moved recently. And I like it now! It was never finished, but the concept comes across and matches the level of painting there.

A photo with my new 35mm f1.8 lens, not the perfect photo, but the contrast and clarity is so nice :)

Used the dodge and burn tools for like the first time ever to enhance parts of the image.

Another recent film shot.

I had no idea how beautiful this photo would turn out when I took it. It's my new best photo.

Shot in the Syson gallery in Nottignham. Iona and Rose.

My first 'photoshoot'.

I have wanted to do a environmental portrait shoot for a while, but haven't had an idea that I was happy with until now.

I wanted to do some night photos with really deep contrast, using flashes, and these film shots turned out beautifully, despite the amount of trial and error involved.

I used my Yashica FX-D Quartz, and Kentmere 400 black and white film. Also slaved a flash from the camera to a friend holding it from the side.

The contrast is just beautiful on film, and the sharpness is very good, despite trying to range find and focus in the dark.

Very happy.

Thanks to my additional models, Rory and Rose, and Sophie for holding the flash.

Some recent colour and composition studies...

Trying to develop my painting, and hitting a wall at the moment.

Really intrigued with the moon at the moment. I've been watching films like Moon, Sunshine and Apollo 13, peaking my curiosity in space travel.

I would love to walk on the moon.
